Borno State Governor’s Convoy Attacked By A Fraction of Boko Haram.

On Wednesday, the convoy of Prof. Babagana Zulum, the Borno State Governor was attracted by members of Boko Haram on the Bags highway.

About a week ago, 5 aid workers who were abducted first week of June on the same road were killed, the area is said to be a stronghold for a fraction of the Boko Haram sect, Islamic State of West Africa Province.


According to our source, the Governor was en route to Monguno and Baga towns to distribute food items to IDPs, his convoy was attacked while returning from Baga, a deserted fishing Community in Kaka Local Government Area.

The soldiers and police officers assigned to his entourage were able to withdrive the attack on the convoy, after which the convoy returned to Monguno town.


However, two vigilante and a policeman sustained some injures but the Governor was unharmed.

The incident has been confirmed by a government source but an official statement is yet to be published.
