SUPREME COURT SACKS GOVERNOR IHEDIOHA OF IMO STATE, DECLARES SENATOR UZODINMA AS THE NEW GOVERNOR.

Governor Emeka Ihedioha of Imo State was on Tuesday sacked by the Supreme Court.

A seven man panel of justices led by Justice Tanko Muhammad, the Chief Justice of Nigeria, came to a unanimous agreement that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) glad bearer of the 2019 governorship election, Ihedioha wasn’t duly elected.

Senator Hope Uzodinma, the flag bearer of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the March 9 2019 governorship election was declared the valid winner by Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun.

The immediate withdrawal of the Certificate of Return issued to Ihedioha was ordered by the Court.

Further More, the court also ordered for a new Certificate of Return should be issued to Senator Uzodinma and he should be immediately sworn in as the governor of Imo State.
