The former autocratic president of Egypt, Hosni Mubarak, whose hold on power was broken and place in history upended by a public uprising against the poverty, corruption and repressive police tactics that came to define his 30 years in office, died on Tuesday at age 91.
Mubarak was found guilty if complicity in the killing of protesters during the revolution, the conviction was overturned and was freed in March 2017.
The Egyptian State news on Tuesday confirmed his death.
According to Al-Watan website, he died at a military hospital.
His survived by his wife Suzanne and two sons Gamal and Alaa.
