WATER TANK KILLS TWO STUDENTS IN ANAMBRA STATE.

A 13-meter tank with a capacity of 2000 cubic meters on Wednesday fell on a class room of Royal Kings Foundation Nursery and Primary school in Nkpor-Agu in Idemili North LGA of Anambra State leaving two students dead and another two critical injured.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Anambra State Command, SP Mohammed Haruna confirmed the incident.

The police rushed to the scene after been altered, the patrol team lead by the DPO of the Ogidi Division, CSP Mark Ijarafu on arrival of the scene gathered that the overhead tank of about 800 gallons capacity filled with water which stood in a neighbouring compound adjacent to the school, fell directly on the roof of the classroom during school hours.

Four students sustained various degrees of injuries and were rushed to Idemili hospital Nkpor, two pupils, one male, Wisdom Ezewudo who’s about 3years old and a female of about 2years old who’s identity is yet to be confirmed, were confirm dead by a medical doctor.

However the other two pupils Chimelumeze Obelenwa who’s a year and seven months old and Kosisochukwu Anthony who’s a year and ten months old, both male, are responding to treatments.

According to the PPRO, the commissioner of Police, Mr. John B. Abang has offered his condolences to the parents of the two deceased kids and ordered for a discreet investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident.
